A primary component of the PSO’s mission is to bring the power of live orchestral music to all people in our region, ages 4 to 104. Whether your children have had the opportunity to learn about the PSO with their school, or whether you yourselves have attended a PSO concert, we want to create an opportunity for you to enjoy the experience together.

PSO KinderKonzerts explore the different families of orchestral instruments with children while introducing them to live symphonic music in fun, interactive programs. Kids dance, wiggle, clap, and sing along with the with Portland Symphony Orchestra musicians during the 35-40 minute concerts.
Ages 8 – 12.
Students ages 8-12 have the opportunity to hear the full PSO perform richly diverse styles of music, while learning about the elements of orchestral music and instruments. Held at Merrill Auditorium at the Portland City Hall, these concerts are approximately 50 minutes in length.
Discovery Concerts give the whole family a chance to enjoy the music of the PSO together. Concerts are an hour long and engage the audience for a fun and educational journey with the full orchestra! Come early for games, a hands-on instrument petting zoo and lots more musical fun.
Students of all ages have access to the renowned artists and world-class performances of the PSO. No need to wait for Student Rush; families and students can plan in advance and get great seats at prices they can afford!
