Mark Honan, “Beethoven in the House” guest artist
Mark Honan trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He is an Affiliate Artist with Portland Stage and appeared as the Troll King in Peer Gynt, Charlie in The Foreigner, Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and most recently in Willy Holtzman’s one-man show The Real McGonagall in the Studio Theater. Other local roles include Harpagon in The Miser and Lady Bracknell in The Importance Of Being Earnest for The Stage at Spring Point, Ivan in The Seafarer for AIRE and Charles in Blithe Spirit and a reprise of his role in The Real McGonagall for The Theater Project. In Britain he appeared as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, John Proctor in The Crucible and in adaptations of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy novels. He is an award-winning audio book narrator and recently completed a solo recording of A Christmas Carol. He has numerous commercial voice-over credits, an Oakhurst Dairy TV commercial and has appeared on The History Channel in The Conquest Of America. He performed in Ellis Island with the Portland Symphony and his voice has been heard in Magic Of Christmas. He can be reached at markhonan(at)yahoo.com.
